Dekkori Decks Shoes, and Now Designs Them

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011

Designer Stephanie Kim had a question: what to do with a shortage of shoe space and an exponentially increasing shoe collection? Her answer: she conceived Dekkori, a line of shoe accessories and styling pieces that turn one pair of shoes into many.  With the flick of a snap (and some cleverly hidden elastic), flip flops become gladiator sandals and ankle boots become killer thigh-highs.

Eventually, Kim’s buyers had a few questions of their own: what type of shoe does one wear with Dekkori accessories? Naturally, Kim had the answer: design a collection of five basic, quality shoes that complement the Dekkori styling pieces. Simple booties, wedges, and flats provide a clean canvas for the shoe stylist in all of us.

Zeferino

New York City women never cease to amaze, as they navigate the sidewalks and streets, hailing taxis in their five inch heels with the ease of wearing a pair of running shoes. Immortalized in movies and on television as they cavort about in their gorgeous platform pumps and peep-toe stilettos, these shoe mavens are nothing short of inspiring.  That’s exactly what influenced the designers of  Zeferino footwear for the Fall 2011 collection. With the Fall campaign now officially launched, you can check out all the edgy yet feminine styles, inspired by the City women who fearlessly strut their stuff amidst puddles and potholes. For more information, be sure to read our other Zeferino post from January.

Paulo Borges, the mastermind behind Sao Paulo Fashion Week, headed the creative direction of Zeferino’s Fall campaign, while the photographs can be credited to the  notable fashion photographer, Fabio Bartelt who has done covers for big names such as Vogue, Elle and Harpers Bazaar.
