Two of our Designers, Timo Weiland and WHIT, have been selected to compete for the 2014 International Woolmark Prize! The U.S. nominees include Altuzarra, Creatures of the Wind, Bibhu Mohapatra, Giulietta, Tucker, Daniel Vosovic, Wes Gordon, and Ohne Titel.
The International Woolmark Prize recognizes the creativity of Merino Wool in Fashion Design. The Woolmark competition is notable for launching the careers of Yves Saint Laurent and Karl Lagerfeld. Last year, Sophie Theallet won the U.S. competition, and Belgium’s Christian Wijnants won the International Woolmark Prize in February.
One winner from the talented roster will be named on July 9th in New York. They will receive $100,000 to use toward their next collection. The winning Designer will go on to represent the U.S. in the esteemed competition in Milan next February, along with finalists from Australia, China, Europe and India. The international winner will take home an additional $100,000 to be put towards their next fashion show. The international prize recipient will also have the opportunity to have their collection sold at premier global retailers such as 10 Corso Como, Bergdorf Goodman, David Jones, Eickhoff, and Harvey Nichols UK.
CONGRATULATIONS!
