If the title of this collection doesn’t catch your attention, the flowing fabrics and ‘70s-inspired aesthetic of these garments certainly will. This is “A cat among the ermines,” camilla norrback’s A/W 2011 collection named in regards to “coming to peace with standing out– to being the cat among the ermines.”
While we may not necessarily understand what it’s like to be a feline amidst weasels, we are surely able to grasp the sense of wearable elegance that Norrback infuses through design details such as bows, flowing fabrics, draped sleeves, and low backs. We’re also enjoying the rich accent colors of autumn yellow, tartan green and rust that are combined with textured materials such as velvet, bamboo, and alpaca.
Aside from its distinctive title, what really makes this collection unique is Norrback’s dedication to what she calls “Ecoluxury”—a term she coined in reference to designs that are both beautiful and luxurious, but also smart and sustainable. We love, for example, how this collection utilizes organic cotton soy bean fiber, recycled polyester, and naturally tanned leather to create charming, yet durable pieces.
We think this menswear-inspired look is ultra feminine: a playful bow-embellished blouse paired with a rust-colored coat creates a flirtatious look.
We love how this bright autumn yellow top makes a wearable statement
A tartan green velour jumpsuit? We find this unexpected yet somehow, it works!
