The Council of Fashion Designers of America and Details magazine have partnered to create limited-edition pocket squares with 10 of Today’s foremost American designers. The pocket squares will be auctioned off at Tomorrow night’s CFDA x DETAILS event, and starting December 5th, another run of 10 pocket squares per designer will be sold on Bonobos.com for $100 each (all proceeds go to the CFDA fund). Designers featured include Robert Geller, Richard Chai, Rag & Bone, Band of Outsiders, Michael Bastian, Billy Reid, Marc Jacobs, Tommy Hilfiger, John Varvatos and Thom Browne.

With Father’s Day approaching, what better time to mention one of Fiftytwo’s favorite duos: Menswear designer Robert Geller and daughter, Luna Geller. Not only is Robert talented in what he designs but he continues that energy into being the best father that he can be, and we can vouch for this! Little Luna seems to be adopting her own sense of style when she spends her time staring over her father’s shoulder at his studio and then trotting up front to the showroom to spend time with Mommy Ana. Robert says, “Luna comes into my office and stays with me while I’m working. She sits at the table next to me while I’m sketching and she has her markers out, doing her thing.”
This adorable father/daughter duo was just featured on Park & Bond’s website where they referred to him as one of the ”Most Stylish Dads in NYC.”

Robert Geller’s Collection for Fall 2012 represents an excercise in The Impossible Cool, as celebrated on the blog with the same name. The impossbly cool man is one who is polished but not perfect, who celebrates the classic cut but with a modern twist, and who always, always makes it look good.
Against the backdrop of a dirt runway, Geller showed his collection of punk inspired classic british tailoring. The clothes had an emphasis on layering and volume with capelets draped over elongated shirts and raincoats that followed an a-line. Above all, he captured the rugged put-togetherness of The Impossible Cool.

After much anticipation and baited breath, the CFDA awards came and went last night and didn’t disappoint. The brilliant minds behind the fashion industry gathered together, along with the celebrities and muses who wear their designs with equal brilliance. Some of our favourite moments include Lady Gaga’s heartfelt speech, where she stated “Fashion made me feel like a star before I was,” Sofia Coppola presenting Marc Jacobs with his “Half-Lifetime” Achievement Award, and of course, our very own Robert Geller winning the Swarovski Award for Menswear. We are so happy for him, the award was well deserved!
